Briefly describe what you do here at Broadbent & Associates, Inc.
I am the new HR Director. HR handles all facets of an employee life cycle: hiring, on-boarding, development, pay & benefits, engagement, and retirement. I also support the company with talent development and organization design.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
To be a short-order cook / chef.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Serendipity, Zemblanity, and everything else life has to offer…
What does your workspace look like?
Have not had time to decorate, so pretty much stacks of folders and paperwork….thinking of a Dibert theme.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Full-ride invest in my kids college funds (i.e. 529), ladder CDs for a safe haven and invest in the market, and spend the rest to go to med school in the Caribbean– in that order…so first would be to set up an iron-clad program for my kid’s future success.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
M.D. – General Practitioner for an area in-need in the US (rural or city).
When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Now I research what to do on the weekend here in Nevada – so much to do and so little time (hiking, amusement parks, water-parks, old Western towns…) and how much used jet skis are.
What is something you learned in the last week?
That the Stratosphere rides are absolutely terrifying.
What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
Indoors – socializing, I get energy from people. Outdoors: socializing, I get energy from people. Does not matter what the activity is, as I am open to pretty much anything within reason.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Folding laundry – especially matching socks.
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
Abraham Lincoln
What three traits define you?
Honest, Loyal, and Driven
How do you define success?
When you mentor/coach people and they become better than you. That, and being a wholistic/compassionate person. Before that it was global travel and career achievements.
What inspires you?
Opportunity to make a difference for the better, and then making it happen.
What is your favorite thing about working at Broadbent & Associates, INC.?
The people, first and foremost; the industry, second, and finally the location. Really thankful to be part of the Broadbent team.
