Mike is a professional Engineer with 29 years of experience in facility and infrastructure engineering throughout the United States. He retired from the US Air Force in 2020 after a successful career as a Civil Engineering officer. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Clarkson University (Potsdam, NY), a Master of Business Administration from Wright State University (Dayton, OH), and Master of Engineering Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology (Dayton, OH). Mike joined Broadbent in late 2020 and assumed the role of Principal Engineer and overall Director of Engineering. He is an accomplished leader and manager with extensive experience managing personnel, budgets, requirements, projects, sub-contractors, and contractors. Mike has direct experience in the water and wastewater, energy, environmental compliance, safety, housing, and transportation industries. His diverse experience allows him to identify issues and problems quickly and he has developed relationships with leaders of multiple major consultants, federal government engineering organizations, and state regulators. These relationships allow Mike to craft robust compliance plans and strategies and then expeditiously navigate complicated and sometimes tedious permitting processes with minimal delays. When away from work, Mike enjoys outdoor activities like bicycling, running, camping, hiking, travel, attending live sport and music events, and working on his project vehicle. He is a long-standing member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, and the Society of American Military Engineers.
